Why have we long accepted that the parts inventory "pad" balance is different than the accounting GL amount? DealerStar's parts department operates tightly with the service and accounting departments. The inventory balance is always the same as the accounting balance. How does DealerStar do this? First of all the quantify field cannot be manually changed. If there is an adjustment to the physical inventory, then a corresponding accounting acjustment is made. This helps prevent shortages.
